Used ATV Parts and ATV Salvage Yards
Motorcycle salvage yards have been around for a long time. I have owned Northend Cycle Salvage for over 32 years, I was 24 years old when I started the shop. I won my first motorcycle in a contest when I was 15 years old, that was in 1970. Motorcycle salvage yards were around back then. The first ATV or ATC that I can remember was the ATC-90 that Honda started producing back in the early 70's. After Honda started producing ATCs or three wheelers, all the big motorcycle manufactures wanted to jump on the band wagon. After the ATCs came the four wheelers. After a few years of manufacturing four wheelers, a few ATV salvage yards started to open up around the U.S. That was about 20 years ago and now they are in every state. ATV parts can get pretty expensive depending on which parts you are talking about. The rear differential on a four wheeler can cost as much as $800.00. That is why ATV salvage parts are so popular.
People enjoy owning and riding four wheelers but don't enjoy paying the high prices for the replacement parts when they break down. We sell ATV parts about as much as motorcycle parts. Everything on an ATV wears out. Atvs are driven hard and are rarely washed or cleaned after they are driven. Hunters drive them over, under, around and thru. Some owners install PVC tubing from the airbox to as high as several feet above the unit. They drive their ATVs completely under the mud. They completely submerge the whole ATVs and see how long or how far they can go before their ATV stops running. It is wild where some people will attempt to drive their ATVs. A new fad that is getting popular is to mount stereo systems or Boom Boxes on the ATVs. I have seen people mount large amplifiers for their sound systems on ATVs. Other owners buy huge expensive wheels and tires for the ir ATVs. A good set or wheels and tires can cost as much as $2,000.00. It might sound crazy but it is for real.
