I once owned a 2004 Yamaha FJR1300 ABS. I purchased the bike at an excellent price. The bike had an ABS braking system which made it stop on a dime without skidding of sliding. When I needed a part for the bike, I always looked for good used Yamaha motorcycle parts at our local motorcycle salvage yard. I never believed in buying those expensive new OEM Yamaha motorcycle parts when I could buy good used Yamaha motorcycle parts for ½ the price of new OEM Yamaha motorcycle parts. I also owned one of the 2004 Yamaha ATVs. I had quite a few wrecks and accidents on my 2004 Yamaha ATV. After an accident, I always checked for good used Yamaha ATV parts before I was forced to buy new OEM Yamaha ATV parts. One thing to remember is, whether you own a 2004 Yamaha FJR1300 ABS or a 2005 Yamaha ATV, you need to save your hard earned money. Always go to ATV salvage yards to find good used Yamaha ATV parts. That way you will not need to pay the high prices that new OEM Yamaha ATV Parts cost.

Yamaha Virago 1100

Today we purchased a 1986 Yamaha Virago 1100. According to the current NADA Appraisal Guide, the motorcycle in fair condition has a NADA Appraisal Guide value of $375.00. In excellent condition, the bike has a book value of $2,380.00. The bike we bought today had two blown front fork seals. The fork oil could be seen on the outside of the fork tubes. There was also oil leaking from the upper part of the front cylinder. The oil was actually leaking from under the valve adjusting cap for the exhaust valve. Both the front wheel and the rear wheel were not spoke type like many other Virago 1100s. Both the front wheel and the rear wheel were magnesium wheels. The front tire and the rear tire were in decent condition. The gas tank or the fuel tank was custom painted but there were no dent or dings on the tank anywhere. The best I can remember, the seat was a Corbin brand custom motorcycle seat. The Corbin seats are supposed to be very comfortable. A new Corbin motorcycle seat usually cost about $400.00 to $800.00. The exhaust system on the bike was an expensive brand. The exhaust was made by Vance and Hines. The custom Vance and Hines headers for this bike usually cost about $400.00 to $600.00 when they are purchased new. The fuel tank or gas tank had no dents or dings. It was in very good condition. The bike started and ran very well. It idled at about 1000 rpms. All the lights which includes the headlight, the tail light and the brake light seemed to work just fine. All four blinkers were in great condition and seemed to work OK. The horn showed no signs of damage and was loud when tested. The tires were manufactured by Dunlop. Dunlop is one of the best brands of motorcycle tires made today. The bike had both of it's mirrors which is out of the ordinary. The paint job was not factory. In my opinion, the paint job looked great. The bike showed no signs of being wrecked during it's 26 year life. In conclusion, I would say that this bike, being built in 1986, was in above average condition. Apparently the owners had taken very good care of it all those years.

I awoke to my cell phone ringing. I looked at The clock and it was 9:30 AM, I had over slept. This was one morning that I surely did not want to be late, I had been waiting too long to find a good used motorcycle gas tank that would fit my bike.  The night before, I had worked on the internet until about four or five o’clock in the morning. I was completely worn out. My alarm had gone off at 6:00 AM as usual. I must have shut it off, then gone back to sleep.  I had been searching for months and looking everywhere for a good used motorcycle gas tank that wasn't all rusted out or dented up. There weren't a lot of bikes like mine manufactured, therefore there aren't that many of them that have been wrecked and sold for salvage. There was one motorcycle salvage yard in California that was supposed to have a tank like mine. I wasn't able to check it out for a couple months and see if they really did have a tank like mine. I had been so busy at work, with the websites  that it actually had slipped my mind. When I did finally get to call the motorcycle salvage yards in California, I had forgotten what the name of that certain motorcycle salvage yard was. Besides working at the shop during the day, I also work on the shop's websites during the night. Some nights, like last night, I worked on the websites until four or five o’clock this morning. After that, I was completely worn out and had a hard time getting up early enough to let the other workers in.
